Our global HEOR/RWE practice is undergoing significant growth and we are looking for a qualified candidate to lead the expansion of our HEOR/RWE business for some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. This position reports to the Executive Director of Business Development and will be responsible for identifying, targeting and generating new business for SmartAnalyst’s HEOR practice.
We are looking to hire a senior business development lead who will develop relationships with clients in HEOR, Epidemiology, and RWE, and sell new business engagements, including:
Dynamic disease modeling
Literature review and evidence development
Prospective and retrospective studies
Real World Evidence: data analytics
Risk share modeling
Developing strategies aimed at identifying client needs, and closing business with clients
Developing and executing call plans to gain access to potential new clients, utilizing well-honed organizational and client management skills
Collaborating with the HEOR/RWE leadership team to develop capabilities presentations and proposals
Collaborating with the HEOR/RWE leadership team to successfully negotiate new client opportunities and manage client relationships
Experience in selling HEOR services is a must.
The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in consultative selling or solution-selling, preferably within a HEOR consultancy, strategy consulting firm, or CRO. A minimum of two years practical experience in business development and proposal development in the HEOR and pharma/biotech area is required.
Critical to success in this role is a strong understanding of the role of health economics and RWE studies within a pharmaceutical company, and the ability to understand client’s needs and how SmartAnalyst can provide a solution to support their business objectives.
The ideal candidate has developed and managed customer relationships at senior levels in the bio-pharmaceutical industry, and has a strong network of contacts within HEOR, RWE and Epidemiology.
The successful candidate will have a desire to use industry experience to drive new sales in the life sciences. Strong closing skills are essential and the ability to quickly develop relationships while providing consultative, value-added reasoning to utilize SmartAnalyst’s portfolio of services and expertise is necessary.

PhD or advanced degree in cancer biology, tumor immunology and immunotherapy, cancer pharmacology, experimental therapeutics or other cancer related areas

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who is scientifically adept and looking to apply those skills in a consulting environment.
Focused on client delivery/client projects by providing support to engagement managers/project leaders:
gather and analyze primary and secondary data sources to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses that will inform the project team and the client deliverable
work collaboratively to translate findings into narratives and insights that will be communicated to the client
assist in report writing/presentation development; develop sections of reports independently, depending on the project
participate in client meetings as required
1-2 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or consulting; or post doctoral fellowship training in a cancer or immunology related field
Ability to critically and strategically evaluate scientific data and information, and distill and synthesize key findings
Demonstrated capability in writing and presentation skills
Excellent time and project management skills
Able to work in a collaborative, knowledge driven, fast paced environment
Proficient in Excel and Powerpoint
Ability to work independently, as well as ability to work as member of a team
Ability and interest in attending scientific, medical, and industry conferences as needed

Graduate or professional degree involving significant analytic or quantitative coursework (e.g., business, math, science, economics, pharmacy, medicine)
